Psychiatrist 2 FTE

Position Precis:

Psychiatrist (2 positions available)

The Mental Health Services Department at Grey Bruce Health Services (GBHS), Owen Sound, is a Schedule 1 adult psychiatric facility servicing 39 beds across three units. Our Department supports include administrative staff, RN’s, RPN’s, NP’s, Social Workers and Psychologists.

 

GBHS is a local leader of innovative treatment programs for the acute and chronically mentally ill population in a catchment area of over 160,000. Our Psychiatrists work in a collaborative model of care supporting our inpatient units and providing consultation services to five community-based mental health teams. GBHS is an active teaching community with medical students and residents rotating on electives here from medical schools across Ontario.

 

We offer a broad range of mental health programs including:

  • Crisis Team and Emergency Psychiatry
  • Assertive Community Treatment Team
  • Psychogeriatric Assessment and Treatment
  • Dual Diagnosis
  • Case Management Program
  • Addictions Clinics
  • Child and Adolescent Clinic
  • Sexual Assault Clinic
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Qualifications:

licence to practise in Ontario

Remuneration:

fee for service

blended compensation model ranging from $300,000 - $350,000

The Grey Bruce area is known for its scenic beauty. The city of Owen Sound overlooks Georgian Bay and is only 2 hours from Pearson International Airport. About the Psychiatry Department:

GBHS’ eight psychiatrists, based at the Owen Sound hospital, support the Schedule 1 inpatient service and/or provide consultation to three community-based multi-agency mental health teams. The psychiatrists support a comprehensive range of ambulatory programs including the Crisis Team, Community Outreach Treatment Team, the Assertive Community Treatment Team, Psychogeriatric assessment and treatment, Dual Diagnosis and Aftercare Services.

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists at GBHS work closely with LHIN parnters at London Health Sciences Centre and Parkwood Institute, St. Joseph's Health Care London as well as local community partners.
